Anti-Viral & Flu Formula™ contains a powerful combination of immune boosting, symptom relieving and anti-viral herbal and nutritional extracts. Anti-Viral and Flu formula does not contain Echincaea which recently was shown in the New England Journal of Medicine not to be effective for treating or preventing colds or flu.
How FP Anti-Viral & Flu Formula™ works:
Each daily dose (2 capsules twice daily) supplies:
- Elderberry 4:1 extract 300mg, prevents the replication of all three strains of Influenza Viruses that cause Flu.
- Olive leaf extract (containing 20% oleuropein), 200mg) -penetrates viral cells and suppress enzymes responsible for viral replication and has powerful anti-biotic effects to prevent secondary bacterial infections.
- Panax Ginseng (100mg) stimulates the immune response and reduces symptoms of fever, inflammation and sinusitis associated with colds and flu. Panax ginseng is more effective and Echinacea at immune system stimulation.
- Propolis (400mg) has anti-bacterial effects, which help protect against secondary bacterial infections that can occur with or shortly after a viral infection.
- Andrographis (200mg) is a herbal extract that reduces the duration and symptoms of colds and flu by alleviating symptoms of runny nose, sinusitis, headache, fever and inflammation.
- Vitamin C (500mg) [in the non-acidic form, calcium ascorbate] is required for healthy immune function. Being non-acidic, the calcium ascorbate form of vitamin C will not cause stomach acidity, often a problem in older patients.
- Zinc (10mg) [amino acid chelate form] is an antioxidant that protects immune system cells from free-radical damage. Once immune system cells become damaged due to free radical attack (from ageing, or from severe infections), they loose the sensitivity to distinguish between bacteria, viruses, cancers and healthy human cells. The result of this damage is that sometimes virus, bacteria or cancers are allowed to survive, or that healthy cells are incorrectly attacked by immune cells, resulting in inflammatory auto-immune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, allergies, asthma etc.
Directions for use:
At the onset of cold/flu symptoms, or during a viral infection:Adults and children over 16 years of age: two capsules twice
daily.
Children 12-16 years of age: one capsule twice daily
Children 4-12 years of age: one capsule daily.
Anti-Viral & Flu Formula™ can be used to treat colds and, once the symptoms begin, or it can be use to prevent colds and flu during high risk times (such as winters or when a family member has a cold or flu).
Anti-Viral & Flu Formula™ is also useful for helping to prevent colds and flu in high risk individuals, such as the elderly, teachers, nurses, doctors etc.
Anti-Viral & Flu Formula™ can also be used during any other viral infection to slow down viral replication.
Like an anti-biotic, it is important to use Anti-Viral & Flu Formula™ for at least 7 days once started.
Anti-Viral & Flu Formula™ should not be used for longer than 3 months continuously without a break of at least two weeks.
Duration of use:
The immune system is like an armed soldier protecting his nation (your body) from invasion by viruses, bacteria and cancers. Like a soldier, if our immune system cells are stimulated continuously with being allowed to rest and recover, ultimately they become fatigued and collapse from exhaustion. Therefore, it is important never to over use any immune system stimulator, such as Anti-Viral & Flu Formula™ or to use it longer than three months without a break. This allows the immune system time to recover.
For long-term immune system protection, immune system stimulators are not recommended, since they can ultimately exhaust the immune system if used for long periods (longer than 3 months). For long-term use, rather use an immune system protector, such as FP Twentyfour 12™. This is because immune protectors do not stimulate immune cells, but rather protect them, by supplying an anti-oxidant shield that prevents free-radicals from damaging immune cells, which can result in immune system malfunction (such as the auto-immune disorders, allergies, asthma, inflammation, cancers). It is quite safe and effective to take FP Twentyfour 12™ for long-term immune protection, and Anti-Viral & Flu Formula™ for short-term immune stimulation.
Side-effects, Contra-indications, Interactions and Special Precautions:
Do not use this product if pregnant or breast feeding since it contains Andrographis
herb and Panax Ginseng. Will not cause drowsiness, but if taken after 4pm, may
cause insomnia. Use with caution if you are on blood thinning, anti-coagulant
or anti-platelet medication since andrographis and panax ginseng can thin the
blood.
Do not exceed the recommended dose.
Store in a cool and dry place, out of the reach of children.
Capsule shell made with non-animal origin vegetable protein and is naturally
coloured with plant chlorophyll (an antioxidant). Contains no sugar, lactose,
gluten, yeast, artificial colourants, or preservatives. Manufactured under strict
